LG OLED65B8PUA Overview
LG OLED65B8PUA Manual – The main difference between the B8 series and the C8 series on the LG OLED line is the A7 processor in the B8 compared to the newer enhanced A9 (a i.e. Alpha) Intelligent processor on the C8. The latter improves the depth, color and processing of various input signals, a necessary update on OLED TVs, as we have mentioned for years. Apart from that, the two are similar with the new ThinQ AI hub for everything related to smart TV (and smart Home) as well as Google Assistant. The best OLEDs still surpass the best led TVs in image quality and price, although the best-in-class 4k local dimming LED models can approach these new OLED TVs, especially in a bright room. The black levels of the B8 are perfect, and the color information simply appears on the screen. The new 4k line of LG OLED TVs won our best of CES 2018 Award for the third consecutive year for the best image on the market.
Progress on last year’s B7 model is better processing that helps the clarity of images. Voice control has been further enhanced to include Google Assistant. And more compatibility with various HDR specifications such as HDR10 and HLG. While Dolby Atmos’s sound is not new, it is still welcome.
LG OLED65B8PUA Manual – First, OLED TVs do not contain the “spinning” crystals found on all LCD-based TVs (including LED TVs). Instead of producing color information through the light passing through these crystal prisms as they rotate at incredible speeds, the color information on OLED TVs is produced from organic carbon-based compounds , which emit green, blue and red lights in response to the electric current. Actually, this is more like the way the phosphors in plasma TVs work than the twisted crystals on an LCD screen. There are no additional light sources needed to energize the organic-colored compounds that this small electrical charge. Interestingly, a small part of the OLED TV technology is taken from CRT TV. OLED TVs have a cathode layer to provide the above mentioned electrical load to pixels.
LG OLED65B8PUA Manual – Back to the image quality. Because of the backlight used to illuminate images on an LCD TV, there is less flexibility in the production of black or very dark scenes. There should always be a flow process from the backlight, through the LCD screen. There are several ways that LCD panel manufacturers try to achieve deep black levels, but suffice to say that they are all well below the perfect and effortless black levels of OLED TVs. All that OLED has to do to present the perfect black is to cut the power to any individual pixel. Since there are more than 8m pixels in the new 4k OLED models, you can understand how vast the contrast ratio is even in small individual areas of the screen. Lighted colors are much more detached from this platform, making them look more vivid and vivid, even when properly calibrated. While there are some slight advantages of LCD TVs with LED backlight on the potential for brightness, white-colored peaks and video processing, these are easily eclipsed by the contrast, color and black presentation of OLED TVs.

LG OLED65B8PUA Manual – When you see a B8 next to a 4k LED TV, the first thing you notice is the immense and infinite black levels of the OLED TV. Yes, 4k LED TVs can still provide a brighter picture due to the LED backlight, but it is not a comparison in the depth of the blacks of an OLED. Now, to review, the Videófilos know that the brightest LED lights in the store can look good, but take it home in a lamp-lit room and begin to see all the defects (and reduce the backlight settings). As mentioned above, you also remember that deeper black levels create colors that make the contrast in the screen more and more highlighted. Essentially to make my single point, the black levels win over the brightness in the image quality. OLED TV easily wins against 4k LEDs in this important category.
